Esteé Lauder Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick Review
So, this is my first ever beauty product review on the face of internet (after a couple of scratches and lashes on my notebook). I started doing makeup quite late. Trust me, I was one of the girls who lingered about natural beauty ( I still do believe in it) but somewhere down the road of growing up, I realized makeup made me feel more confident. So, why not? There’s been no looking back after that. Piles of makeup products slushed my dressing table.
Well, today I’m going to talk about this foundation that I tested and bought from Sephora on one of my makeup shopping spree. This is not my everyday foundation (I’ll be doing another post on that) but I like applying this foundation for parties and shoots. The foundation I’m talking about is Esteé Lauder’s Double Wear Cushion Stick. It seems like a very fancy and handy foundation with its built-in sponge applicator and gives a very dewy and weightless effect on my face. I’m going to break down what I think about this foundation:
The foundation is very handy and works best for traveling as it has the sponge applicator attached to it. It’s a twist up stick foundation with a sponge applicator. You can twist up the sponge and the product comes out which you can then buff or dab on your face. You can control the amount of quantity you apply: if you twist out too much, you can reverse and it pull the product back in. So, I would say the packaging is very handy, as everything you need is available in one stick.
The foundation gives a medium coverage and I love how it works on my skin. It has a build-able coverage, which makes your skin look flawless instead of caked. It gave my skin a radiant glow and it’s instantly hydrating. It gives a natural satin-like finish, which is neither too dewy nor too matte. The coverage of this foundation is definitely a win-win for my skin as I have a combination skin
The package claims that the foundation gives a 15-hour wear though I’ve noticed that it gave an 8-hour wear on my skin. Though, you can use it with a primer to make it stay longer. I think the staying duration is pretty good in comparison to many other foundations in the market and the foundation doesn’t even dry up after a few hours or change colour in my T-zone. It has a pretty decent longevity.
My critical analysis for the foundation would go as under:
1.It’s lightweight, and gives a weightless effect.
2.Easy to apply with the attached sponge applicator
3. It’s long-lasting.
4. Gives a dewy and hydrating effect. It works well for combination skin.
4. 20 shades available to choose from. I’m using 2W2 RATTAN shade currently.
5. A handy and travel friendly product design.
6. The applicator is detachable for cleaning, so it’s good for people who would render it as an unsanitary design.
1.There isn’t much product for the price (only 14ml). It emptied out after a few applications.
2.The applicator is small , so it takes quite long to blend your whole face.
3.Not quite sure if it would stay long for oily combination users.
Overall, I like the foundation and the instant radiant glow it gives on my skin but I’m not a big fan of the sponge applicator, as it is too small and I still use my foundation brush to apply it.
That’s about it for now. I’m leaving a few leaving a few links from where you can buy the foundation and know more about the pricing and the quantity.
